Sweet, creamy, and easy to make, this homemade cinnamon honey butter is a delicious way to elevate your favourite breakfast and baked goods. Made with just three simple ingredients, this cinnamon butter spread combines the rich flavour of butter, warm cinnamon, and the natural sweetness of honey. We used buckwheat honey for its distinctive, rich flavour, making this an easy recipe to enjoy at home.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp honey (we used Charlie-Bee's buckwheat honey!)

Instructions

  1. Whip the butter.
Add softened butter to a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until light and creamy.
  2. Add cinnamon and honey.
Mix in the ground cinnamon and honey until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Mix until smooth.
Continue whipping until the cinnamon honey butter reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  4. Store and serve.
Transfer the finished spread to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

How to Enjoy Cinnamon Honey Butter

Spread this homemade honey butter on warm toast, freshly baked scones, biscuits, pancakes, or muffins. It also makes a delicious topping for waffles, French toast, and freshly baked bread. For an extra touch of sweetness, let the butter soften slightly before serving for easier spreading.

Recipe Tip: Try different varieties of honey to customize the flavour of your cinnamon honey butter. Buckwheat honey adds a rich, bold taste, while lighter honey varieties offer a milder sweetness.
